Welcome to Recess Online! I'm Katie Landa. A little back story on me and this Recess concept. I've been training as an athlete for over 15 years and competing in the sports of triathlon, Ironman, Crossfit, rowing, boxing and more.
I started coaching as a yoga instructor in Newport Beach California for a few years. I later moved back home to Arizona where I took my style of coaching, and demanding and competitive nature, and built the Recess Concept.
I designed and built the Recess community 5 years ago specifically to teach resiliency and commitment. It is designed into 2 parts. The first is a 15-20 minute carefully designed athletic stretch. A mix of static and dynamic stretching that reduces hip and back pain, improves sleep, reduces injury and increases flexibility and functional movement. The second part is a 40-45 minute mix of endurance and strength. A training program executed by having the highest expectations of myself, and our community to perform at their best. If you weren't willing to do the work, I wasn't willing to have you stay.
I closed this facility 2 years ago for personal life changes, and realized how much this training truly impacted lives of others. Flexibility, happiness, strength and having a strong belief system.
I have now made this training program accessible to you, online. I look forward to working with you again in a different capacity, but the same expectations.
Recess is a training program that can challenge a developed and strong athlete, and also a first time exerciser. I have had clients 25 years of age up to 70 years of age, and most of my 50-60 year olds would dominate the room.
Age or ability is not an excuse to not perform at your best.
Everything from workouts, movements, and rest times can be adjusted to fit your strength, challenging you mentally and physically.
Attitude is everything.
